Award meme & no frosty tomatoes for us!

The lovely Bazu has tagged me with a meme!

Thanks so much! :) That totally surprised me and made my day.

I'm going to tag Carla of But did they EAT it?. Some of the recipes she's come up with are just absolutely amazingly original. And, often Carla will tackle a basic recipe in a way that nobody has before. Look at this recent post and see that she made spiral spanakopita! If that's not creative, I don't know what is!

Also, I found it quite original and creative how Tracy of A Veg*n for Dinner made 'bonz' for her seitan ribz... check it out!

Really, though, I think that there are SO many creative vegan bloggers out there. Give yourself a nice big pat on the back! :)

Last night, my mom found out some how that there would be an overnight frost-yikes! That meant we had to pick ALL the tomatoes right then.

Well, we didn't pick them all, but stopped instead after 3 shoeboxes (2 full of green tomatoes and 1 with ripe or semi-ripe ones)

I liked this tomato a lot... see the pretty yellow stripes?

Haha, this one has a nose!

Also, my mom stopped at the Italian Centre on Monday and got some neat stuff, including:

Hot peppers!
You know how you're supposed to wash your hands RIGHT AFTER you get the juices all over your fingers? Well, I didn't, so now I've got blistering heat literally at my fingertips. Putting my contacts in is not a very pleasant experience...

Figgies! Yay for fresh figs! These are the only ones left, and they're mouldy and gross so I don't think they'll end up in my tummy anytime soon. The other ones were yummy, trust me!

I love this! I clearly remember last year when we had to pick all our green tomatoes from the garden before the first frost. I had fried green tomatoes for the first time, they were great! And we pickled a bunch of them, which we are just finishing up now...

Shoot! I forgot about my tomatoes! I hope there are some salvageable ones. The weather was unbelievable yesterday, hey?!
Yay for the meme, it is totally deserved. :)
