Cupcakes for a reunited family

My sister came back from camp today! You know, I think I kinda missed her...

So, my OTHER sister and I made cupcakes as a "welcome home" present. We decorated them all, but took 7 aside to spell out 'long-lost' sister's name.

I used two recipes from How it all Vegan: The cupcake itself was made out of the Vanilla Cake recipe, while the chocolate icing was the chocolate icing recipe a few pages after. The purple icing was just a randomly thrown-together creation. My awesome littlest sister helped me with it all, so this was really quite fun.

I have no complaints at all about the cupcake batter- they turned out just as well as did Harry Potter's cake (same recipe!). However, I must have made a mistake making the chocolate icing, because it wasn't thick enough and started to slowly drizzle down the cupcake.
On the bright side, this icing received rave reviews and my mom is using it as a chocolate sauce with raspberries.

Speaking of raspberries... my awesome littlest sister topped of one of the cupcakes with a few of these gems and asked that I take a picture:

And... I've finally got my hands on some miso! We went to T&T Supermarket the other day and I bought a nice big tub. Remembering the suggestions Jenna left me on this post, I tried using a little bit of miso on my nori before adding the spinach & carrot.
Of course, I just had to have some fun with this and went all the way. Note the alternating pattern of wheat sprouts- lentil sprouts. ;)

And, the garden is continuing to flourish, but right now it's the green beans' time to shine.
They are seriously the BEST green beans I have ever tasted! I like to steam them for just 1 or 2 minutes and eat them like awfully healthy French fries.

On an unrelated note, the weather is crazzzzy right now. It's raining, thunderstorm-ing, and very windy. It's insane, and I love it! I went for a quick run with my mom and it was exhilarating, to say the least... Also, compared to having the wind at your back, it was surprisingly hard running against the wind! :)

Bake them some cookies or cupcakes, or veganize their favorite dessert, and they'll come running. :)

And thanks!
